Twilight Movie Colors Black and Red

by Monica Ferrari The use of colors in Twilight, the current most popular movie series (as indicated by box office numbers), is enchanting. The theme of black, gray, cold blue, and poetic use of reds emphasizes the movie's mystere and passion. Twilight movie colors Black: Notice how most of the movie is set during the night or dark parts of the day - dawn or dusk. Black is widely known for being a color of mystery, the unknown, and the questionable. Red: Red is used in Bella's lips, evoking lust and passion. To convey power, red is used as the color of vampire capes. Red in Edward Cullin's eyes to express startling hypnosis. And finally, red is used in Victoria's hair, the character symbolizing sex, through her provocative dressing, and dissent, through her violation of Volturi rules by scheming to torture Bella. Gray / cold blue: Gray and blue, the color of cold mist, fog,  and the bridge between black and white, or, good and evil, is used throughout the movie. The bridge of good and evil is represented by the love between a vampire, Edward, and a mortal, Bella.
